Description: The Valdosta Daily Times, Valdosta, Ga. -- Managing Editor Steve Meadows and City Editor Brian Lawson Supervisors. (912) 244-1880. As military affairs and county government reporter it has been my duty to generate and write copy concerning the military in general and Moody Air Force Base and the activities of the 347th Wing in particular. I also cover the local Lowndes County government to a lesser degree than the military community. In addition, I have covered the build up of the base during the transition of the 347th from a fighter wing to a composite wing. Previously, I covered the local industrial authority for The Times, and I was an education reporter for The Times in addition to covering the military. As education reporter I have reported on the Valdosta City and Lowndes County Boards of Education.
At The Times , I have won several journalism awards. I won a 1996 Associated Press Class AA Second Place award for my part in uncovering a primary election day bungle where 6,000 voter names were left off registration lists due to a mistake in a state operated computer system. I won two 1995 Associated Press Class AA First Place press awards (One for Deadline Reporting and one for Freedom of Information reporting) for my part in the coverage of an A-10 military aircraft crash and the paper's suit of the city school board when the board failed to release three school superintendent search names in order to comply with the Georgia Sunshine (Open Records) Laws.

Description: The Daily Sun. Warner Robins, Ga. -- Managing Editors J.J. Johnson and Jim Kerce and Special Sections Editor Susan Parker -- Supervisors. (912) 923-3100. As Public Safety and Military Affairs reporter I covered Robins Air Force Base, the Museum of Aviation and the military in general including the Base Realignment and Closure process, the police department of Warner Robins and the Houston County Sheriff's Department. As Religion Editor I was in charge of covering and writing about religion around Houston County and Middle Georgia, and laying out and editing local and Associated Press copy on the religion page.

Description: The Macon Telegraph. Macon, Ga. (circ. 80,000) -- Assistant Metro Editor Greg Jones -- Supervisor. Duties included: Covering local events, reporting on general assignments from editors and generating my own story list to produce copy for newsworthy pieces. During my time at The Macon Telegraph, I won an Associated Press Newswriting Award for my contribution to a package of stories on alternative lifestyles in Macon, Georgia.

Description: I was responsible for the timely delivery and supervision of the USA Today newspaper in more than 200 racks in east Macon and Dublin, Georgia.
